A chainlink-fence enclosure about 40 yards square contains some 20 inscribed tombstones and slabs, this site lying at the terminus of Silver Acres Drive about 0.3 mile east of Surf Rd. The plot is bare of trees except one shrubby tree near the center. The site is identifiable with that recorded as Old Field Cemetery and Plat 8 of Wakulla County by the veterans' grave survey of 1940-41, which recorded the graves of two veterans here. One is Civil War veteran Elias Nichols; the site is sometimes referred to as Nichols Cemetery. The most recent inscribed year-of-death is 1989. The site appears adequately maintained.
