Directions
The veterans' graves registration of 1940-41 gave locating directions:
From Wakulla and the intersection of U.S. Highway #319 with Wakulla-St. Marks Road (State Road #10) proceed west on said U.S. #319 for 1 mile; then turn left (south) on dirt road going 1 and 6/10 miles to cemetery which lies to the right and west of road.
The veterans document thus places Kennedy Cemetery southwest of Wakulla and south of the Upper Bridge Hwy. - rather close to Chaires Cemetery (also known as Cates Cemetery). It places Kennedy Cemetery 6/10 mile southerly beyond Chaires or Cates along the same road. That general area is an area of several reported sites not presently located that make something of a complex (see entries elsewhere here for "Kinsey West", "Kinsey South", and "Hunter's Glen").
The 1940-41 document records the grave of veteran David M. Kennedy for the subject site. Ed Page (b. 1923) of Wakulla uses the name Kennedy Cemetery evidently for the cemetery we list as Stewart Cemetery just north of Wakulla and east of SR 363. There seems to be no report, however, of Kennedy graves there.
Date of site report narrative - November 2001
