SNEADS - Hazel Byrd Napier, 83, a retired bookkeeper, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, in Tallahassee. Jean Nash, 67, who owned Jean Nash Accounting and Tax Preparation Services, died Friday, April 7, 2006, at her home surrounded by family. The service will be at 2 p.m. EDT Tuesday at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel (850-893-4177), with burial at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT today at the funeral home. A native of London, England, Jean was born on Dec. 6, 1938. She immigrated to the United States at 21 years of age and obtained her U.S. Citizenship in 1972. She lived in Colorado for more than 20 years before moving with her husband to Tallahassee in 1987. Jean was an active and well-respected businesswoman. She was one of a small, select group of accounting professionals in Tallahassee certified as an Enrolled Agent. She also previously served on the Board of the Tallahassee Senior Citizen's Center. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader who enjoyed music, dance, gardening, the arts and travel and, most importantly, a friend. She inspired her family with her joie de vivre (joy and love of life), and was unconditionally generous, both in business and in her personal life. She leaves behind an indelible mark of happiness in the lives of all her family, friends, associates and "client-family" members. All will forever and exceptionally miss her. Jean is survived by her husband of 24 years, Dan Nash; her devoted sons and daughters , Damon Magill and Carol Magill, both of Denver, Nancy Juneau (and Steve) of Tallahassee, Carol Carnley (and Billy) of Crawfordville and Steve Nash (and Jennifer) of Houston; three beloved sisters, Sheila O'Connor (and Herb), Pat Crossley (and Artie) and Margaret Harris, all of England; a brother, Gerry Woolaway (and family) of Australia; 13 grandchildren, Bernadine, Christina, Anthony, Nicole, Sarah, Jessica, Christopher, Julia, Courtney, Jacob, Nathan, Morgan and Isabel; five great-grand-children; and many devoted family friends. ARRAN - George Edsel Nazworth, 76, a mason in construction, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, in Tallahassee. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy E. Nazworth. James Donald Neighbors, 82, died Wednesday, Dec. 27. 2006. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorsey Neighbors. Dorothy Elizabeth Holland NeSmith, 86, a homemaker and caregiver, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, in Madison. James Arnold Newton Sr. (Jim), 85, of Crawfordville, FL, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016, after a short illness surrounded by family at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Jim was born September 6, 1930 in Statesville, NC, and graduated from Boston Georgia High School in 1948. He initially joined the army stationed in Japan and then served four years in the Korean War. Upon discharge, he moved to Atlanta, GA working as a Station Manager at Southern Airways. It was during this time that he met his beloved wife of 62 years, Marion Musser. The couple raised their family in Memphis, TN and then retired to Crawfordville in 1982 where they have lived for the past 34 years. He and his wife are charter members locally at Trinity Lutheran Church. Jim enjoyed telling neighbors stories of times past, fishing, and gardening. Jim is survived by his wife, Marion, and their four children, Nicole Beaver (and husband Kenny) in Olive Branch, MS; James (Jimbo) A. Newton, Jr. in Fayetteville, NC; Ronald L. Newton in Memphis, TN; and Stephen (Steve) O. Newton in Somerville, TN. They also have two grandchildren, Ashley N. Reese (and husband Josh) and Jason L. Speck, as well as two great-grandchildren, Adalyn N. and Violet E. Reese. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, JR and Ruth Newton, and his two brothers, Ralph (Donald) and James (Buddy) O. Deanie Euphesene Roberts Norred, 85, formerly of Ft. Walton Beach, died Saturday, June 2, 2007. Although she and her husband "Bunk" Norred, who also retired from Eglin, had no children of their own, Deanie was a loving and supportive older sister in her large family of eight children and a loving and caring aunt who was very important in the lives of her 10 nieces and nephews. She and Bunk were avid fishermen and traveled the world, after their retirement, to Canada, Australia, Japan and other sites. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1991. She was also a dedicated Christian and she treasured both her family of relatives and her loving church family. A native of Tallahassee, she grew up in the Spring Hill area of Leon County. Deanie was a 1940 graduate of Leon High School and also graduated from Lively Vocational School. She was a longtime member of Ft. Walton First Baptist Church, where she was a tireless volunteer until her move back to Tallahassee in 2003, to be near her family. She had been a resident of Harbor Chase on John Knox Road since 2004 and an active member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church. In her last months, she received the loving and dedicated care of family, staff of TMH Neurological ICU, Big Bend Hospice, Centre Pointe Health & Rehab and pastors at Thomasville Road Baptist Church and Faith Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sisters, Edna Roberts Lambert of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Laverne Roberts Slocumb of Tallahassee; a brother, Andrew A. Roberts of Tallahassee; a sister-in-law, Jean Roberts of Milton; and many loving nieces and nephews and their children across the country. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ruth Blount Roberts; her husband, "Bunk" Norred; four siblings, Tommy Roberts, Gwendolyn Roberts Slocumb, Glenda Roberts Harvey,and Shirley Roberts Acord; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law.
