CRAWFORDVILLE - Roy Francis Unger, 55, a database administrator for the Department of Agriculture, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, in Tallahassee. No services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1304 E. Sixth Ave., Tallahassee, FL 32303, or to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, 241 John Knox Road, Suite 100, Tallahassee, FL 32303. Bevis Funeral Home of Tallahassee (850-385-2193) is handling arrangements. A native of Collingswood, N.J., Roy had lived in the Tallahassee area for the past nine years. He was an avid reader of philosophy and enjoyed teaching people through conversation. Survivors include his beloved wife, Patricia; his mother, Leona Unger of Collingswood; two children, Bradford James Severs and Colleen Nicole Severs, both of Crawfordville; a brother, Larry Unger of Leeds Point, N.J.; and a sister, Sandy Maurone of Collingswood. Dorothy Anne Uptain, 60, has died. The memorial service will be at 4 p.m. EDT Wednesday at Beggs Funeral Home Apalachee Chapel (850-942-2929). Family will receive friends from 3 p.m. EDT until the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leon County Humane Society, 413 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312. A native of Gadsden County, she had lived most of her life in Tallahassee and was a member of the Baptist faith. She is survived by two sons, John W. Breeden of Tallahassee and William R. Breeden of Crawfordville; two sisters, Karen Edwards of Tallahassee and Pam Uptain of Havana; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Roy V. Uptain Sr., and Louise Uptain. Shirley E. Usherwood, born April 28, 1941, passed away on June 27, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, William Usherwood; three children, Marcus Wade Whitmore, William C. Usherwood, Jr. (Therese) and Danielle Elizabeth Pearl Biggs (Joshua); ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jannece Ileen Storch. Adrian Jeria Utley, 20, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. EDT Friday at Strong & Jones Funeral Home chapel (224-2139). Family will receive friends from noon to 8 p.m. EDT today and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. EDT Friday at the funeral home. Adrian was a very humble, loving and caring person. He never met a stranger. His loving ways, big smiles and laughter will truly be missed by those he touched. The family has been deeply touched by the love and support exhibited by family friends, Adrian's friends and the outstanding service given by the staff of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his loving mother, Linda C. Utley of Crawfordville; four brothers, Tron Tripplett and Derrick Tripplett, both of Crawfordville, and Donshay Tolliver-Utley and LeTerence Utley, both of Tallahassee; his maternal grandparents, Rochell and Doretha Roberts of Crawfordville; several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends and loved ones. CRAWFORDVILLE - Linda Carol Utley, 44, a supervisor for the housing department at Florida State University, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, in Gainesville. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. EDT today at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, West Congregation, 4010 W. Orange Ave., in Tallahassee. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT today at Strong & Jones Funeral Home in Tallahassee (224-2139). Linda was a very kind and loving person; everyone who knew her loved her. We will never forget her lovely smile and kind heart. She liked playing music and spending time with friends. Survivors include two sons, Tron Triplett and Derick Triplett, both of Crawfordville; her parents, Rochell and Doretha Hart Roberts of Crawfordville; two brothers, Jimmie Roberts (and wife Gwen) of Augusta, Ga., and Cleveland Roberts (and wife Fannie) of Tallahassee; two sisters, Glynis Roberts and Michelle Roberts, both of Crawfordville; a grandson, Kyron Clark of Tallahassee; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
